All of Peter's artwork is from his own experience and resources created both at home and in Africa. This alone eminates an originality as he establishes his own viewpoint from initial idea.

As soon as you see Peter's artwork, you will instantly note the bold background which highlights his subjects. He favours a bright blue to enhance his subject as it is a natural and genuine back drop to the animal's habitat ( with the African subjects). This in itself is unusual and incredibly eye catching to any viewer and hits you before your eye focuses on the main subject.

All detail is saved for the subject alone as the individuality of each animal deserves this attention. Peter uses a high powered magnifying glass to obtain the level of detail for each subject which is a long and painstaking process for one's focus. He uses extremely fine brushes to facilitate this procedure and paint each tiny wrinkle as it appears.

One can immediately feel the immeasurable admiration that Peter has for his subjects as he captures the essence of life within the eye of the animal. His work persists in maintaining this link with the viewer, which is achieved through the variety of colours that are layered to give depth within the eye.

Of course it is the level of detail that Peter achieves which has been observed and commented on by many a person and continues to be as he progresses even further with his increasing intricacy.
